Start: Achetties outside the Heroes Guild, north of Taverley
Bring: 55 quest points; Dragon Slayer, Lost City, Merlin’s Crystal, and Shield of Arrav; 53 Cooking and Fishing, 25 Herblaw, 50 Mining. Bring an opposite-gang partner, fishing rod, bait, pickaxe, and combat supplies. Black Arm members need a Black plate body, legs, and large helmet; Phoenix members need a ranged weapon and arrows or attack spells.

Step by step
- Talk to Achetties outside the Heroes Guild and accept the search for a Firebird Feather, cooked lava eel, and Master thief armband.
- Defeat the Ice Queen in the Ice Queen cave and wear the Ice Gloves she drops.
- Defeat the Firebird and pick up its hot feather while wearing Ice Gloves. It cools into the feather Achetties needs.
- Ask Gerrant in Port Sarim for Blamish snail slime. Use it on an unfinished harralander potion to make Blamish oil, then use the oil on a fishing rod.
- In Taverley Dungeon, defeat the Jailer and take his jail keys. Open Velrak’s cell and talk to him for the Dusty Key.
- Use the Dusty Key to reach the lava eel fishing area. Catch a raw lava eel with the oily fishing rod and bait, then cook it at level 53 Cooking.
- If you belong to the Black Arm Gang: ask Katrine in Varrock about Pete’s candlesticks, then ask Trobert in Brimhaven for an ID paper.
- Wear the Black plate body, legs, and large helmet. Show Garv the ID paper at Pete’s Brimhaven mansion and enter.
- Talk to Grip for a miscellaneous key. Trade it to a Phoenix Gang partner who has started Heroes’ Quest.
- If you belong to the Phoenix Gang: talk to Straven in Varrock, then Alfonse and Charlie in Brimhaven about the secret kitchen route.
- Push the strange kitchen panel. Take the miscellaneous key from your Black Arm partner and use it on the mansion side door. Stand at the window with a bow and arrows or attack spells.
- The Black Arm guard opens Grip’s alcohol cupboard. Grip walks into the back room; the Phoenix partner shoots or casts at him through the window.
- The Black Arm guard picks up Grip’s bunch of keys, searches the mansion chest, and receives two candlesticks. Trade one to the Phoenix partner.
- Black Arm members bring a candlestick to Katrine; Phoenix members bring one to Straven. Each receives a Master thief armband.
- Return to Achetties with the cooled Firebird Feather, cooked lava eel, and armband. Speak to her for one quest point, experience rewards, and Heroes Guild entry.
The game journal confirms quest completion and the first conversation. Game progress can take up to five minutes to appear while you are logged in. Mark the remaining steps as you do them; the game does not save every substep.
